About our Five Cities Campus

Thanks for stopping by. We hope you'll come worship with us at our Five Cities Campus, serving the Five Cities area.  We are one church that meets on more than one campus. While each campus is unique we share a single vision . . . to help people find and follow Jesus. We invite you to join us.

Getting Here & Parking

Our Family Worship & Sunday School Hour occur at 9:30 AM. Our Five Cities campus is located just off the 101 freeway in Arroyo Grande at 995 E Grand Ave. Check out the map below for directions. There is plenty of parking in the campus lot.

Look for the directional banners to guide you to the worship service and GraceKids classes. If you need help, stop by our Welcome Center as you enter the campus.

Come as You Are

When you come to worship with us, you'll see some wearing shorts, some wearing suits and everything in between. Please wear what you are most comfortable wearing. Most people who worship with us dress pretty casually.

What to Expect . . .

A warm friendly welcome. You are our guest and our desire is that you feel our welcome.

A diverse, intergenerational church family. Grace is a place where college students, families and adults of all ages and life stages worship together. We welcome children in our worship services and encourage 'Family Worship.'

Relevant systematic teaching from the Bible. We believe that the Bible is not a book of rules or a book of good advice, but a life-transforming and God-glorifying story of redemption that climaxes in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Eclectic, Gospel-centered worship. Our music is varied and diverse, including a range of styles and instrumentation. Our contemporary worship teams are complemented by an orchestra, choirs and the inclusion of an organ.

Grace Central Coast is built upon a foundation of small groups called Growth Groups.  Growth Groups are families of servant missionaries who meet weekly to study God's Word and serve their communities. Jumping into a Growth Group is the very best way to connect and get to know others at Grace and our highest priority beyond the worship service.

Come Serve With Us

Because Jesus served us, it is our great joy to serve one another.  There are lots of places to serve at Grace Central Coast, but here are a few of our most urgent needs:

  • Welcome Team
  • Tech Team
  • Worship Team
  • GraceKids Team
  • GraceYouth Team
  • Prayer Team

If you're interested in serving on one of these teams, let us know.

We consider it a privilege and a joy to care for your kids. We take this responsibility seriously. We desire to provide your child with a safe, secure and loving environment where they can grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We aim to partner with you in the joys and challenges of Biblical parenting and instruction.

At Grace, we're committed to both 'age-integrated' and 'age-segregated' learning. What does that mean?

On the one hand, we're committed to encouraging parents and children to worship and learn together by attending our worship services together. We call this 'Family Worship.' So bring your kids to worship with you at Five Cities. You will not be alone when you do.

At the same time, we're committed to an excellent and multi-faceted Kid's Ministry where children learn, grow and have fun in settings that are geared for them.

Sunday School Classes
9:30 am | Birth – 6th Grade

We offer a Gospel-Centered Sunday School program during our Family Worship service at 9:30 for Birth through 6th Grade.  As you arrive on campus, follow the directional signs to locate the appropriate classrooms for your kids.

All of our Kids classes can be found in the rear of the building at 995 E Grand Ave. If you enter at the cafe, walk down the hallway to find the lounge and check in area. If you enter through the courtyard, you’ll find the lounge and check in area to the right.

Nursery: Birth - 1 year

Toddler: 1 - 2.5 years

Preschool: 2.5 - 5 years

Elementary: K - 2nd Grade

Elementary: 3rd - 6th Grade

Safety is our
highest priority.

We know if you're worried, you won't be able to worship.  We take the safety of all kids extremely seriously.  All of our classes are staffed by loving and caring teachers who have gone through our extensive screening and fingerprinting process.  No child is ever left alone with a single adult.  Parents can worship worry-free knowing we will text or page them if their little one needs them.'

Parent-Child Dedication

Multiple times a year, we take time in our worship services for parents to dedicate their children to the Lord and themselves to the joys and challenges of Gospel parenting.  It's a special time in the life of our church.

A Commitment to
Family Worship

In many churches, parents are discouraged from bringing their kids into worship services. The opposite is true at Grace. We're committed to Family Worship.  We believe it's vital for families to worship together.

Child Wellness Policy

If your child is ill, we ask that you please keep them at home out of consideration of other children and their families. Please do not bring your baby to the nursery or the Family/Cry Room Room if they have any of the following symptoms:

  • Runny Nose
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Any other contagious
    childhood ailment

GraceYouth   |   Middle & High School

Our vision at GraceYouth is simple. Know. Grow. Go. We want all our students to know the gospel, grow in their understanding of it, and then go into the world to serve and share that good news with others. We have a decades long legacy of an intentional and growing youth ministry here on the Central Coast and by God’s grace and power we plan to maintain that for the decades to come.

We have one mid-week gathering and we gather to worship on Sunday mornings as well. We meet Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm at various homes in our community to have fun, connect with each other, and study God’s Word. Both our High School (9th-12th) and Middle School (7th-8th) students head into our Worship Service at 10:30am and are encouraged to sit together. Don’t forget to click the calendar link on the left for our most recent quarterly calendar. We hope to see you soon!

Do you love teaching others the Bible and want to share it with students? Do you have a lot of energy and like having a crazy amount of fun? Then we would love to talk to you about joining our Volunteer Youth Staff! We have a great, energetic, and loving staff who pour into our students week in and week out all year long. We need people who want to help with tech, music, small groups, events, or by being a parent on our youth board.

Living Life Together

What is a Growth Group?

Simply put, it's the best way to get involved and grow in your faith here at Grace.

They let us know and be known by others as we experience living the Gospel together. We truly believe that Gospel transformation happens in the context of small groups where real relationships can be experienced and deepened.

So how do they work and what are they for?

Growth Groups are the primary place for discipleship in the life of our church. They are small groups of people who meet weekly and focus on 3 identities as we help people find and follow Jesus together.

1. Family.  Because we are a part of God's family and adopted by God our Father, we seek to be the family of God together. Being a family means growing in our faith together, praying with and for one another, and caring for each other like a family. Sometimes that means sharing a meal or watching someone's kids or celebrating a birthday.

2. Servant.  Because we were served by Jesus to the point of his death on the cross for us, we seek to serve others in our group and our larger community. We encourage each of our groups to find a place in our community that they can adopt and begin to show the love of Jesus through service.

3. Missionary.  Because we are given the same Holy Spirit as the early disciples and Jesus himself, we too are God's missionaries and witnesses in the world. We believe that mission is most effective when done by a family of servants. We don't want to send lonely missionaries into our communities and workplaces, but rather groups of committed people who love one another and show that to the world around them.

Ready to get plugged in? Click the link below to check out all our groups.

Is it worth it? Here is what people at Grace are saying about
Growth Groups.

“When I first came to Grace in 2008 I knew one person, my sister. After a number of months, my wife and I joined a Growth Group of complete strangers. We were in that group for 5 years and now those people are some of our best friends. It literally changed our lives. We now lead a young marrieds group at our home in SLO where we get to live life together and help couples navigate the early years of marriage. Growth Groups are a must. You can't afford not to join one.” - Pastor Miles Nelson

“I'm at home most of the time with 4 little ones and it can be hard to get out and fellowship. by having a weekly meeting I am forced to be in community with others and no matter how difficult it is to prepare for, it is always worth it and I always feel blessed at the end of the night. Growth groups have given me friends in a season of life when meeting new people and developing relationships can be challenging.” - Jenny Nanninga, Young Marrieds Growth Group Leader

“Growth Groups are a great way to divert my thinking from all the tasks at hand, slow down and grow in my knowledge and love of God. It's also a great way to build relationships with the other believers involved.” - Dayton Muxlow, recent Cal Poly grad, and College Co-Ed Growth Group Leader

Five Cities CONNECT Study

We have launched a Women's CONNECT study at the Five Cities campus meeting Wednesday mornings. This study focus on both a book and sharing life together. All are welcome! Currently, our study meet on Thursday mornings at 6:30 AM at Red Bee Coffee in Grover Beach. If you have an interest, please contact our Campus Pastor, Ben Collins at bencollins@gracecentralcoast.org and he will give you all the info you need!

Our SLO campus has ongoing Bible Studies offered from September through May each year. This is a great way to learn more about God, start a relationship with Him, and grow in strength and wisdom, in His Word.

Thursday Morning Bible Study
On Thursday mornings from September to May, Grace Central Coast Women offers a bible study from 10 am to 12 pm weekly at the SLO campus. We enjoy worship, fellowship, good teaching, great coffee, and a top-notch children's program. Other Opportunities

  • Women's Events
Women’s Mentoring Evening events are designed to be a relaxed, fun, and encouraging evening where women choose to sit at tables according to subjects that intrigue them and spend time with a mentor table leader talking about the subject at hand (working women, parenting, marriage, divorce, spiritual life, etc.). Plan to join us. It is a great way to get to know other women in our church community and gain challenge and encouragement in our lives. And besides that, we have prizes, great food, and don’t forget laughter!
  • MOPS
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and by preschoolers, we mean kiddos from birth through kindergarten. We know it’s a little confusing so let’s just stick with “MOPS.” We believe that incubating hearts and giving just-because-hugs can change the course of history. That’s why we connect moms all over the world to a community of women, in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOPS groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped and to find our identity by journeying alongside one another. They meet monthly at the SLO campus. The group is currently full for the Winter/Spring semester but stay tuned for Fall of 2020.
  • Mom's in Prayer
This is a prayer ministry of moms who gather together to pray for their children, their schools, their teachers and administration.  The parents of Middle School and High School students prayer group meets Wednesday mornings at SLO First Baptist Church from 8:30-9:45 am starting September 16th.  Email Cindy Frauenheim at mcfrauen88@gmail.com for more information.
  • Love from MOM
This is a ministry for moms of post-high school children who desire to pray for their kids, connect with other moms in the same stage and send care packages to those living away for college.  We meet the 4th Tuesday of the month during the school year from 1-2 pm at our SLO campus, to assemble care packages and pray for our college-aged children. Contact Liesl O’Brien at 805-471-5819 for more information.

Grover Beach Elementary

We 'adopted' Grover Beach Elementary in the Spring of 2016 and have totally enjoyed showing God's incredible love to them through multiple Work Days, Teacher Appreciation, Good News Club Leadership, and a Spanish/English Immersion Class! God has been at work in SO many ways through this partnership. To find out more and to get involved, contact our Campus Pastor, Ben Collins via email: bencollins@gracecentralcoast.org.

Community Outreaches

We have gladly served at the Stampede Run for three consecutive years, assisting with registration and a water aid station. We hope to continue to shine for Christ out on the course in years to come!

We love participating in the Harvest and Christmas Parades in Arroyo Grande. We have a blast and we let people know that our God is great and good each time we walk the streets of the village in Arroyo Grande.

Sanctity of Life Ministry

Our ministry exists to encourage and support the Sanctity of Life, a whole life belief that ALL life is to be respected and protected from conception to natural death.  As our Lord commands, we honor people in every stage of life - from the preborn to the support for mothers who are faced with a challenging pregnancy, to those suffering from post-abortive issues, those with special needs, the elderly and the shut-in.  For more information or to join our mailing list, contact us at sanctityoflife@gracecentralcoast.org.

The following are outreach opportunities that reflect and encourage a whole life focus, belief and purpose:

Tree of Life Pregnancy Support Center: We support Tree of Life in its efforts to support women facing an unplanned pregnancy where they'll find caring help, hope, positive options and practical help from friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers.

40 Days for Life: The largest prayer ministry in the world, this international group gathers to pray for an end to abortion, the leading cause of death across the globe.

Prayer Care Partners: We serve and interact to bring love, hope, and comfort through the Good News of the Scripture and life-giving prayer to the elderly and infirm in our Senior Living Communities.

Sanctity of Life Newsletters: join our Sanctity of Life Ministry and receive and newsletter displaying local ministry activities, pivotal information, and suggestions for book reading to further your own understanding of whole life issues.
